If you knew him, I'm sorry to say he's passed in a most untimely manner. He was a good friend to both Frankie and I, and he will be sorely missed. If you knew him, you know what an energetic and fun person he was and that he was always true to the Chicago music scene. That being said, visitation services are being held at Bohemian Cemetary (5255 N Pulaski @ Foster in Chicago) this Friday, August 22nd from 1-5pm. If you were friends, please try to make your way there at some point to pay respects and condolences to his fam. Ours go out to him in a big way. Gone but not forgotten, little buddy!

Yo duderinos! WestFest and the afterparty at Lava Chicago were both off the gosh darned chain! Lava's resident photographer and Chicago drum n' bass legend, the one like Doctor Groo (more affectionately known as Ben Baez to us regular folk) took an assload of awesome pics from both days, and the great folks from IllMeasures (who provided the killer sound and the badass of Striz on the decks) managed to snag some really dope recordings of the festivities! That being said, they're being hosted at the IllMeasures site, and I went ahead and put 'em up here just in case too. So go ahead and peruse Ben's dope pics while you peep some sets that will hopefully put you right in the moment. Here's to another great year of the music we love in the streets of our neighborhood!

Anyways, next weekend (August 9-10) here in Chicago is the WestFest Street Festival on Division Street - Sunday, August 10th being the house music funstravaganza with the ones like Derrick Carter, The Sound Republic, Diz, Beat Giants, John Simmons, & Striz on the festival stage! And then after that we're hosting the Westfest Afterparty @ LAVA CHICAGO (1270 N. Milwaukee Ave. Chicago, IL) with Diz, Hiroki, The Sound Republic, & Beat Giants (+ a special surprise guest!) - the after party will be completely, totally, absolutely FREE! And remember how they were gonna "post an edited video any day" after the show (which was in February)? Well they just posted it. It's (almost) August. House Music Time rocks! (It looks awesome though duders!) Better late than never! What a fun party that was.

I'm not sure which part to be more freaked out about: the fact that the State of Nevada was willing to issue a license plate that read "RAPER" or those god damned shorts. Serious Fruit Basket action. Yikes.
